Messe Frankfurt RUS joined Memorandum on a Common Economic Space from Lisbon to Vladivostok

The signing ceremony was held on October 22 at the conference “Eurasian Economic Union: the meaning, achievements, perspectives of the development” organized by the Russian-German Chamber of the external trade, supported by the representative office of the German economy in Central Asia. Messe Frankfurt became the first exhibition company who joint the initiative.

“For many years Messe Frankfurt RUS has been working in Kazakhstan. We organize here two trade fairs for the transport industry – Automechanika Astana and Busworld Central Asia. In the context of our efforts in the “Belt and Road” initiative, we are happy to join the partnership meant to create the favourable terms for business on the territory from Lisbon to Vladivostok. I am sure that we can achieve the significant results together” – said during the signing ceremony Eugen Alles, Messe Frankfurt RUS Managing director.

The initiators of Memorandum are the representatives of the political and business environment from the European Union and Eurasian Economic Union and specialized associations. The main target of Memorandum is the harmonization of regulations in the different product groups, and the simplification of the customs procedures to increase the trade in the Common Economic Space from Lisbon to Vladivostok. According to the official statistics, in 2018 the trade turnover between the European Union and Eurasian Economic Union was $352 bln, showing stable growth.

Among the signatories are the leaders from the different industries - Siemens, Schneider Electric, Boos Lighting Group, Bosch, Continental, Kuhne+Nagel and others. The initiative is now supported by 73 business chambers and companies. The joining of efforts from business and government will contribute to the creation of favourable economic condition and will give the new opportunities for the business development of EU, EEU and adjoining states.
